Management of Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease, Psychosocial Interventions for Alcohol Use Disorder, and Diagnosis and Management of Alcohol Use Disorder
This program is designed for GIs, PCPs, NPs, PAs and nurses working with Liver Patients. The Workshop was held in Franklin, TN, in October of 2023. The objectives are listed below and the videos of the three presentations are available in the links below:
OBJECTIVES
- Describe the growing burden of alcohol-associated liver disease.
- Review the diagnosis and staging of alcohol-associated liver disease.
- Discuss the management of alcoholic hepatitis, including the role of liver transplantation.
- Learn how to quickly develop a therapeutic alliance with patients struggling with Alcohol User Disorder.
- Discuss the non-pharma treatment options for AUD.
- Understand elapse prevention techniques.
- Screening for AUD and diagnostic criteria for AUD.
- Management of AUD (acute withdrawal and long-term management).
- Biomarkers to monitor treatment.
The first half-hour will be a networking opportunity followed by the presentation from Hannah P. Kim, MD, MSCR, Julian Raffoul, MD, PhD, MBA, MS, and Eno Eyo, MD. The presentation is expected to last 1 hour and will be followed with a question and answer discussion session.
