Liver Focus Workshop Alabama 2025

Addressing Liver Disease and Access to Transplant Care in Alabama
This program is designed for GI, PCP, NP, APP and nurses working with Liver Patients.
OBJECTIVES
- Define liver disease (including MASH/NAFLD, alcoholic steatohepatitis, and viral hepatitis), its etiologies, common presentations, and manifestations.
- Discuss prevalence and treatment access disparities for patients with liver disease in Alabama communities.
- Describe current treatment options, including medical management, liver transplantation, and palliative care.
- Decide when to refer patients to a higher level of care vs. when to continue to surveil for signs of disease progression
- Understand the importance of referral and coordination between primary care providers and transplant centers
The Session will take place In-Person. A very limited seating is available to be held at the Dothan Country Club, 200 South Cherokee, Dothan, AL 36301. The session includes networking and a complimentary dinner.
The first half-hour will be a networking opportunity followed by the presentation from Robert Cannon, MD, FACS and Meagan Gray, MD The presentation is expected to last 1.25 hours and will be followed with a question and answer discussion session. All times are Central Daylight Savings Time.
