SUMMARY:NASH Patient and Caregiver Survey
DESCRIPTION:You are invited by Global Liver Institute and the Liver Action Network to participate in an important survey for people who currently have or previously had nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)\, or are a caregiver of an individual with NASH. \n\nThis survey is designed to collect anonymous information about your priorities and preferences for addressing NASH including issues centered around diagnosis\, clinical trial access\, and available treatment options. Data from this survey will be used by Global Liver Institute\, a 501(c)3 patient advocacy and support organization\, for research in our mission to help develop potential treatments for NASH. This information will also be shared with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration\, the Liver Action Network\, and a variety of other stakeholders within the medical community to help them understand your thoughts and feelings about potential treatments for NASH. \nYour participation in this survey is optional and should take about 20 minutes. If you start the survey\, you can stop at any time and come back later to finish it. We assure you that your responses will be kept confidential. Any data collected in this survey will only be shared in an anonymized fashion and the survey organizers will not contact you about your responses. \n\nThe survey will be available until noon EST on Friday\, October 29. If you or a loved one have experienced NASH\, we hope you will participate in this survey. This is an opportunity for you to help in the development of future treatments for this devastating disease. If you have any questions\, please let us know by reaching out to Andrew Scott\, ascott@globalliver.org. \n\nMid South Liver Alliance is proud to be a part of the Liver Action Network and hope you will help us gather this important information.   To learn more about Global Liver Institute and the Liver Action Network\, please click here

SUMMARY:Advanced Advocacy Training
DESCRIPTION:Since 1017\, the Global Liver Institute has offered the Advanced Advocacy Academy to train volunteers to effectively advocate for liver health with elected and appointed officials.\nVolunteer advocates have been liver patients\, family members\, caregivers and concerned community members who acquire the information\, skills\, and opportunities that they need to effectively advocate for liver health. \nThe 2021 Academy will take place September 21-23 and will be conducted virtually. \nMid South Liver Alliance has the ability to send 2 people from each state to the Academy. Interested volunteers should contact Teresa Davidson at midsouthliver@gmail.com  \nThis year’s program will offer liver patients\, caregivers\, and professionals the opportunity to learn from experts in the fields of drug development\, clinical trials\, state and federal legislation\, media and communications\, and liver health and disease. Students will be immersed in the world of liver health advocacy through a multimedia experience that they can customize to fit their personal learning style and schedule. Live discussions with faculty members will enhance individual learning\, foster engagement\, and will promote important conversations among the A3 Class of 2021. \nTogether\, we can collaborate as a force that ensures that liver disease has its proper place on the global public health agenda.
